Teri and Alex met and quickly bonded over their shared love for community, inclusivity, and a great night out. Recognizing the need for more queer-centric spaces, they set out to create a bar where everyone feels welcome, celebrated, and safe. Their vision became a reality—an inclusive and accessible space built on love, laughter, and unapologetic authenticity.

Alex, founder of East Coast Queers (@eastcoastqueers), has been curating community-driven events since moving to Halifax from Toronto in 2022. Teri, a Nova Scotia-born mom of two and longtime member of the rave and queer communities, brings years of hospitality experience and the perspective of a proud mom to a queer child.

Together, along with their dynamic and fully-queer team, they’ve created a lasting space where everyone can find belonging—a true home for the community with something for everyone.
